There are different types of anxiety.  General anxiety, social anxiety and phobia related anxiety are three common anxieties.  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a very effective therapy.  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy focusses on the individual symptoms as well as the generic symptoms that are common.  It allows exploration of your thought process, the feelings that generate from those thoughts, and the behaviour and outcome related to the thoughts and feelings.  CBT helps to identify negative patterns that maybe formulating and impacting.  CBT help you to build strategies once you have more insight into the symptoms and even the underlying cause, where you are then better placed to manage the symptoms, rather than they manage you.

Hypnotherapy can be excellent for anxiety disorders because hypnotherapy has its roots in you becoming deeply relaxed both psychologically and physically; and deep relaxation (psychological and physical) is a great help to manage anxiety as the body has a memory, and just like it can learn strategies to preserve you that are not helpful, you can teach it strategies to preserve you that are helpful.
